About

Read more about our project and it's historic value added services it provided early users, developers and businesses in the early 2014 era of web based application development environments and their required systems. Read how we are bring back a modern day victory for stable systems that just worked out of the box and didn't require active development. This system of software called Exponential Platform is what drives 7x to amazing advances to simple needs use cases, like, I need a stable fast website for cheaper than average but delivers value for it's cost in terms of cheaper features in the future.

About Exponential Platform

Today

We have released Exponential Platform 2.5.0.0 to the general public.

We are actively working to bring Exponential Platform 2.5.0.1 to end users who want more than just basic PHP 8 Support.

Exponential Platform 2.5 is the completed work started by 7x last year to upgrade Exponential Platform 2 CMS Implementation of a easy to use PHP Personal Home Page CMS or Community Website Building Platform to more modern PHP versions.

The story

Previously this was developed and released as eZ Platform 2.5 and later as Ibexa DXP the open source enterprise content management system.

We are rebranding this software and also incrementing the version number from 2.5 to 2.5.x.x to give more version number space while clearly marking this release as unique. Short standard for the version numbers will be 2.5

Goals:

  • Provide an educational project for new developers to learn Exponential Platform development concepts.
  • Deliver a simple starter solution for building a PHP-based CMS.
  • Enable a lightweight alternative for personal home page-based CMS needs.

Tested with PHP 8.3

  • All software has been heavily tested, documented and bug-fixed to run with known patterns of php7 code which still generate warnings but no fatal errors upon use.
Remaining work to provide full PHP 8.3+ Compatibility

The remaining work to test, bug-fix and document all modules individually as PHP8 Compatible

  • Current efforts surround going through each admin and user module views per module and fixing all warnings and errors on initial page load. (Page load error free)
  • Next efforts surround going through the software usage, documenting warnings from software code issues and refactor them until no further warnings regarding deprecated code are issued. This is a tedious and time consuming detail oriented task as most errors exist in external packages via GitHub.
